My Campaigns

Transport rail link

Charles Hendry and supporters of the Wealden Line campaignRecently the rail links to London have improved immensely. There isn’t the frustration with the service that there was 2 or 3 years ago. However we must maintain the level of service currently seen in East Sussex and look into expanding the network too. With current emphasis on cleaner methods of travel, we would do well to look into using the train wherever possible.

The Uckfield-Lewes rail link – closed for many years – must be considered for re-opening as an alternative to using the car to get to Brighton. If this turns out to be a feasible option, which I very much hope it will, we must campaign for its return to use at the earliest possible juncture.
